Course Description
This one day, physician-led course will educate the learner on the most common fetal ultrasound diagnoses, their management and outcomes. The course will review ultrasound findings segmented based on fetal anatomic compartments including the fetal head, chest, abdomen and extremities. The course will cover research and evidence-based guidelines on fetal anatomic defects, their perinatal and ultrasound management and the basic outcomes of each diagnosis.
Course Objective
Upon completion of this course, the learner should be able to:
- Understand the importance of ultrasound for fetal diagnosis
- Acknowledge the most common fetal abnormalities identified by ultrasound as segmented by the fetal head, chest, abdomen and extremities
- Learn specific clues to help make the ultrasound diagnosis of common fetal anomalies
- Review evidence-based data on the perinatal and ultrasound management of each fetal condition
- Discuss the short and long-term outcomes for infants diagnoses with antenatal fetal abnormalities on ultrasound
Audience Statement
This course is for physicians and sonographers interested in learning how to identify common fetal abnormalities from head to toe as segmented by anatomic compartment. The learner will gain an understanding behind the management specific to fetal diagnoses and the outcomes for the infant. Educational material will be presented in the form of detailed lectures and case studies.

Prerequisite
A thorough knowledge and understanding of 2D ultrasound imaging fundamentals and system instrumentation is required for this program.
